MISSION & HISTORY.
Founded in 2021, the Hong Kong Extended Reality Association (HKXRA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing Extended Reality (XR) — including Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), Mixed Reality (MR), and Spatial Computing technologies.
HKXRA brings together industry pioneers, educators, creators, and policymakers to strengthen Hong Kong’s position as a regional leader in immersive innovation. Our mission is to accelerate XR adoption and development through education, collaboration, and advocacy. By fostering partnerships across industry, academia, and government, we aim to build a connected and sustainable XR ecosystem that empowers people and organizations to innovate and transform digitally.
As a key connector within the Greater Bay Area (GBA) and beyond, HKXRA actively promotes cross-border collaboration, talent cultivation, and industry growth. Through community initiatives like the XRA Circle, we are shaping a future where technology, creativity, and society converge to drive Hong Kong’s immersive technology economy forward.
